All our handbags are lovingly handcrafted and have a high quality finish.  The materials are selected and combined to make the bags stylish and unusual.

The designer and owner behind Wilde Bags is Anne Gilbert:

”Sewing has always been a part of my life.  Since I was big enough to pick up a needle and thread I’ve always made things.  Unusual handbags are a delight to own and use, so combining my skills with my passion seemed the ideal way to get the right bag.  My friends were quick to ask for their own personalised creations and I haven’t looked back since.

Oh, and why Wilde Bags?  Again, I thank many of my friends for consistently responding with “A handbag?” whenever I first mentioned the business idea in true Lady Bracknell style from “The Importance of Being Earnest”, so it seemed fitting that I doff my hat to Oscar Wilde!
